ओलंपिक खेळांमधील भारताचा इतिहास आणि 2021 मधील दमदार कामगिरी.

 

# टोकियो ऑलिम्पिक 2020 मध्ये भारताची उत्कृष्ट कामगिरी


    जागतिक पातळीवर अतिशय प्रतिष्ठित मानल्या जाणाऱ्या ऑलम्पिक खेळांमध्ये भारताने यंदा बाजी मारली. जपान देशाची राजधानी असलेल्या टोकिया शहरात ओलम्पिक खेल 2020 चे आयोजन केले होते. भारतीय खेळाडूंच्या उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शनामुळे भारताने 86 देशांपैकी 48 वे स्थान प्राप्त केले.


    भारतीय खेळाडूंनी विविध खेळांमध्ये एकूण 7 मेडल्स मिळविले. त्यापैकी दोन सिल्वर मेडल, चार ब्रॉन्झ मेडल आहेत. भारताच्या 2012 च्या ऑलिम्पिक्स गोल्ड मेडल नंतर थेट 2020 च्या टोकियो ऑलिंपिकमधील ऍथलेटिक्‍स स्पर्धेत नीरज चोप्रा यांनी Javelin Throw मध्ये गोल्ड मेडल मिळवले.

    मीराबाई चानू आणि रविकुमार दहिया यांनी प्रत्येकी एक सिल्वर मेडल तसेच लवलिना बोर्गोहेन, बजरंग पूनिया, भारतीय हॉकी संघ आणि पी. व्ही. सिंधू  यांनी प्रत्येकी एक ब्रॉन्झ मेडल मिळविले. पी. व्ही. सिंधू ने लगतच्या दोन ऑलम्पिक स्पर्धेत मेडल मिळवणारी पहिली महिला होण्याचा नवीन इतिहास रचला आहे. 

    2016 ऑलम्पिक मधील दोन मेडल च्या तुलनेत भारताने यंदा उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन दाखविले.



# प्याराओलंपिक या आंतरराष्ट्रीय खेळात भारताने पुन्हा रचला इतिहास 


    प्याराओलंपिक 2020 खेळांचे आयोजन टोकियो शहरामध्ये ओलंपिक 2020 खेळांसोबत केले गेले. मागील वर्षाचे सर्व रेकॉर्ड तोडत भारताने प्याराओलंपिक 2020 खेळांमध्ये 19 मेडल मिळवलीत. 


    प्याराओलंपिक ही आंतरराष्ट्रीय दर्जाची स्पर्धा प्रामुख्याने शारीरिक, दृष्टि, किंवा बौद्धिक कमजोरी असलेल्या खेळाडूंसाठी आयोजित केली जाते.

    2012 च्या प्याराओलंपिक मध्ये भारताने एक मेडल तसेच 2016 मध्ये चार मेडल्स मिळवली होती. यावर्षीच्या प्याराओलंपिक मध्ये भारताने 54 खेळाडूंची आतापर्यंतची सर्वात मोठी तुकडी पाठवून तब्बल 19 मेडल्स जिंकलीत. यामध्ये पाच गोल्ड, आठ सिल्व्हर आणि सहा ब्राँझ मेडल आहेत. 


    अवनी लेखारे आणि मनीष नरवाल यांनी शूटिंग मध्ये, प्रमोद भगत आणि कृष्णा नागर यांनी बॅडमिंटनमध्ये तसेच सुमित अंतिल यांनी ॲथलेटिक्स मध्ये प्रत्येकी एक गोल्ड मेडल मिळवले.


    स्पोर्ट आणि प्रोफेशन या दोन्ही बाजूंची सांगड घालत सुहास यांनी बॅडमिंटनमध्ये सिल्वर मेडल मिळवले. सुहास हे भारतीय प्रशासकीय सेवेत (IAS) कार्यरत आहेत.



# ऑलम्पिक खेळांतील भारताचा इतिहास


    १९०० साली भारताने पहिल्यांदा ऑलिंपिक गेम्स मध्ये ब्रिटिशांच्या झेंड्याखाली आपला सहभाग नोंदवला. याच खेळांमध्ये ब्रिटिश इंडियाचा खेळाडू नॉर्मन प्रीचर्डने दोन सिल्वर मेडल जिंकले आणि भारत ऑलिंपिक पदक जिंकणारे पहिले आशियाई राष्ट्र बनले.


    भारताच्या स्वातंत्र्यानंतर १९४८ मधील ऑलिंपिक गेम्स मध्ये भारतीय हॉकी संघाने ब्रिटिशांना हरवुन गोल्ड मेडल जिंकले. हे भारताचे पहिले ऑलिम्पिक मेडल आणि गोल्ड मेडल ठरले. 


    आतापर्यंत भारताने एकूण ३५ ऑलिम्पिक मेडल्स जिंकलीत, यामध्ये १० गोल्ड मेडल्स, ९ सिल्वर मेडल्स आणि 16 ब्रांझ मेडल्स आहेत. एकट्या भारतीय हॉकी संघाने १९२८ ते ८० च्या दरम्यान दहा गोल्ड मेडल्स पैकी ८ गोल्ड मेडल्स आपल्या नावावर केली.

    २००० सालच्या ऑलम्पिक मध्ये करनाम मल्लेश्वरी यांनी ब्राँझ मेडल मिळवत ओलंपिक पदक जिंकणारी पहिली भारतीय महिला होण्याचा मान मिळवला.
